Meeting Minutes from July 3rd, 2006 6:00 pm

Attendees : Misty Wright, Linette Crouch, Ron Tekippe Jan Fletcher, Richard Rothert and Shannon Payne

  • Discussed Grant writing services.  Consensus was that the original offer from Gershowitz Services was a good deal.  Shannon Payne will contact before the 2nd Council meeting of the month to find out how much money would be needed for matching services and how much of the Shildberg’s Reclamation could be used as matching funds.
  • Shannon Payne will contact Jeremy Rounds at SICOG about grant writing services as well.
  • Linette Crouch will contact Prison Industries about getting signs for Gendler Park to post that no motorized vehicles are allowed on the trail
  • New play ground equipment will be installed on Friday the 28th (poles etc) and actual assembly on Saturday the 29th
  • Committee is looking at August 1st at having an even at Gendler Park to get community members to the park.  We would have hot dogs, chips and lemonade.
  • We are going to talk with Roger Howell about a bike trail.  We would like to get a trail to run East out of Earlham to Knox Ave then North to Gendler Park.  This may even be an item to work with Madison County since there are currently no known trails in Madison County.  Desoto is also working on trails to eventually tie into the Raccoon River Trail and we could also potentially look to connecting with Desoto.
  • Bruce Kobaldt has removed the “danger blasting area” sign from Gendler Park.  We also need to find out who is the owner of the key so that we can open the gate to the park.

Meeting adjourned at 6:55 pm, next meeting will be August 7, 2006 at 6:00pm
